George Wood and the Great White
April 2, 2008
Dr. Wood,
I keep having these day-mares over and over again. The first one plays out as follows: I am standing at the Great White Throne Judgment. I am there with a countless sea of people. As Revelation 20:11 says,
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Of course, I am hoping to hear Jesus Christ say to me, “Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” [Matthew 25:21]. But, I look across a gap in the sea of humanity and notice that all the folks in the crowd across the way have this terrible look of apprehension on their faces. Terror even. They have huge, bugged out eyes with dark purple circles underneath. Just as if they haven’t slept for years. To a person, they appear filled with dread that a very certain, very terrible thing is about to happen to all of them.
However, before this terrible thing occurs, all the ones that I can see suddenly turn and stare in my direction. Almost as if they were universally slapped in the face by a giant unseen hand and turned to see who had done it. For a moment, I think they’re looking at me. But, then I realize they are not. They are looking past me at someone right nearby. I turn to see who it is and it is you! Dr. George Wood! I wonder, “What is going on? Why are they all looking at Dr. Wood?”
And just as suddenly as they had all turned, they begin to shout, “George Wood! What are you doing over there? You should be over here with us! It is you who put us here—to be eternally damned. Why did you not warn us about that evil man Rick Warren, or Bill Hybels, or Robert Schuler, or Joel Osteen, or Brian Houston? Why did you send Earl Creps out to California? We were so comfortable and welcomed in his church. We thought we had met all requirements for getting to Heaven. Instead, we’re dead and bound for Hell. We read the Pentecostal Evangel every Sunday! You even spoke at our church! Why did you not warn us! Oh, the awfulness of Hell!”
And the second dream is even worse. The scene starts exactly the same as the dream above. Only this time, the crowd does not turn and look across the gap. Instead, they suddenly turn towards a person on the gap edge of their human sea. Added to their terrified looks is another look of utter surprise. And suddenly I hear a man shout, “George Wood, what are YOU doing over here?”
Ezekiel 3:17-19 says, “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.” For emphasis, God repeats this theme of the watchman’s responsibilities in chapter 33.
You sir are the watchman for the Assemblies of God. And you have not warned us about any of the great deceptions now within the confines of the A/G sheepfold. God will require our blood at your hand! There is still time to repent and to warn your huge flock. Do it now and perhaps God, in His great mercy, will spare you the full measure of His wrath.
Eleven Bells and All is NOT Well Cries the Night Watchman,
Brother Mike
