6. Creating a cult like environment amongst A/G leadership organizations such as the national and district offices.
Why have pastors who have disagreed with questionable leadership practices (preaching other pastors’ sermons (without acknowledging copyrights or original sources), getting worship songs off the internet without checking the status of the source [like Vineyard songs, Hillsong songs, etc], painting sanctuaries all black [“And men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19], inviting non-believers either personally or via published works into an A/G church service, failing to warn the flock about deception, etc.) been dismissed from the ministry? Have you taken on divine status like the Pope? Have you, the EPs, and the District Superintendents elevated yourselves to god status? In other words, like the Caesars and the Pope, to question you is to question God Himself?

Last time I checked, the good leader, realizing he is fallible, appreciates the dissenting voice even more than those who are always agreeing. The good leader recognizes the voice of dissent as a check calling the leader back to servanthood and balance. And even if the leader is right, he still appreciates a voice calling him to double check himself.

I recall the passage in the Old Testament where Rehoboam sought the council of both the old men and the young men. The old men told Rehoboam something he didn’t want to hear. The young men catered to his pride as the new king. He didn’t listen to the wise council of the dissenting old men and lost ten twelfths of his kingdom in one instant.

And why have you allowed the perversion of the phrase “cooperative fellowship?” Today, if one wants to become a minister, one has to agree that cooperative fellowship is defined as “I entered this fellowship voluntarily and so I agree to cooperate with leadership fully.” What arrogance on your part! This is blackmail by ordination!!! When J.R. Flower and E.N. Bell were alive, cooperative fellowship meant the obvious. That is, the A/G founding fathers did not want to be a denomination because they had all been kicked out of their original denominations for their Pentecostal beliefs (ooops, there goes that dissenting voice thing again—it was okay to form the fellowship but not to keep it). They wanted a loose fellowship where all parties wanted to cooperate with each other. Slight disagreements were not material as long as member churches agreed with the Sixteen Fundamental of our faith. Any churches or pastors that decided they couldn’t abide by the Sixteen Fundamentals was free to leave. The phrase “cooperative fellowship” was never designed to be used as it is now: to coerce ministers into agreeing 100% with leadership or forfeit their licenses.

REPENTANCE ACTIONS: 1) Order your district superintendents to check their records with the expressed purpose of reinstating those who have been dismissed solely for dissension, 2) Check the records of the headquarters for the same thing and do the same thing, 3) Return the definition of “cooperative fellowship” to its original meaning in our national and district constitution and bylaws, and 4) let the Fellowship know that you are sincere by apologizing to everyone publicly for actions taken privately against godly men who had the courage to stand against wrong or that which had the distinct appearance of evil.

7. Promoting a lack of trust in God by being a bank (and charging usury [forbidden in God’s law when dealing with the brethren]) and issuing loans to A/G churches.
What are you doing, as the General Superintendent, allowing AGF to charge churches interest for taking out loans? This is strictly forbidden in God’s law and mentioned multiple times in His Word. And please don’t give me a line about usury being a certain percentage level. Where in the Bible does God make such a differentiation? And where in the original language does the Hebrew word for usury have varying levels of interest at its core? The word is the same every time and it means interest. At any rate! You are making AGF rich on the backs of your brethren. And if they default, I have multiple detailed emails outlining how eagerly you take over the church, fire the pastor and repossess the facilities that where all paid for with the sweat equity of the generations of members whose forbears started the church. Shame on you, Dr. Wood!

REPENTANCE ACTIONS: 1) Delete any references to a “reverter clause” from our Constitution and Bylaws. This very Roman Catholic and Church of England practice should be stopped now! 2) Return all repossessed churches to their rightful owners—the congregations that built them, and 3) Apologize to all pastors and congregations from whom either the A/G headquarters (via AGF) or a district has taken a church into possession due to a defaulted loan. This seems to be in the obedient spirit of the year of Jubilee as clearly outlined in the Levitical law.

8. Disobedience against Jesus’ commands about being respecters of persons (James 2:1-9) awards at General Council for most giving, most congregation members, biggest Sunday school, etc.
Why have you allowed the A/G to incorporate an American corporate and athletic ethic into church life? Why would you make every pastor of every church feel bad about not giving as much or having as much attendance as the top three? Or whatever? This is being respecters of persons. This is calling the rich man up front to sit next to you! This practice has created cliques amongst your pastors. As in, if I’m pastor of a church of less than 100—and apparently nearly two thirds of all A/G churches are [thank God we still have some realistic sized flocks left in our fellowship]—then I don’t feel good enough to stand in the holy presence of a Dan Betzer or a Tommy Barnett.

REPENTENCE ACTIONS: 1) Stop this respecter of big number pastors practice now! I don’t care how long the A/G has been doing it. It was always wrong! Quit passing out awards; it is sin! And 2) go out of your way to invite pastors of small churches up to the platform at General Council (and tell your District Supers to do likewise) to give testimonies of single individuals either marvelously saved or healed in their churches. And then give the glory to God rather than pastors of big number churches. Or the pastor of that small church for that matter. God said in Isaiah 42:8 that He will not share His glory with man! Further, he spent the first third of the second chapter of the epistle from James stating that calling the big, award-winning pastor up front was sin, “If ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” How much clearer can God make it?

9. Disobedience against Jesus’ commands about acting like Pharisees parading through the market and synagogues. Why does the A/G issue a press release every time you head out to do something good for some poor, unfortunate souls? I heartily agree with helping the poor. James talked about that in Chapter 2 as well. However, Jesus clearly spoke out against church leadership announcing to everyone how good they were! In The Sermon on the Mount—which you have no doubt preached from many times—Jesus said in Matthew 6:2, “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” Again, how much clearer can God make it? Your press releases about the Convoy of Hope and our Evangel president going to some Muslim country to help are blaring the trumpet! Look at me, see how good I am! Don’t you want to join my church and be good like me? Not only are you disobedient to Jesus’ command NOT to tell everyone when you are doing good; but, He said that in doing so, you just got your reward: the press release itself. And what does the Bible say about those who declare at the Great White Throne Judgment, “Lord, Lord, did we not DO great things in your name?”

REPENTENCE ACTIONS: 1) Stop the press releases now, and 2) Continue doing the good works in silence before the church and the world (see Matthew 6:2 again).

10. George Wood, you have a lot of repenting to do. And so do your EPs! And many of your District Superintendents. And as I’ve heard more than one great, but unknown A/G preacher preach, repentance doesn’t mean saying you’re sorry, it means taking ACTION. Not only do you need to take all of the above actions, but you need to fall on your face before a Holy God and ask for forgiveness, ask that He’ll still let you into Heaven, ask for a chance to redeem all the souls that you have silently steered to the broad way that leads to eternal damnation in Hell by your failure to be the chief watchman of the Assemblies of God. Ask for your soul George Wood and for every one of the souls under your care! May God have mercy on you! This needs to be done publicly George; NOT in a booth to your priest! See James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed,” Confess all of the above faults to us George, the ones you’ve led astray by your entangling alliances, your rich man’s apathy, your silence about the wolves amongst the flock, and the sinful teaching you have allowed in our halls of higher education. Then we’ll know how we can pray for you and us!
Mark 8:36-38, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
The above passage from Mark is the story in a nutshell of the 21st Century A/G—of which you are the head!
