Letter from Evangel Grad, Class of 2004
This sight is very informative. I appreciate the time that’s been spent gathering and organizing the data presented. I also appreciate the personal sacrifice to educate the A/G masses. I will send this link to everyone who has an interest in the situation.
I too am against the merger. Not as a CBC grad but as an Evangel grad, class of 2004. I appreciate the kind words that were written about EU in the general letter. My only suggestion would be to get some input from the Evangel front. Input may not be forthcoming from faculty and administrators (although it is my understanding that ‘Bobby’ is not very happy about the situation), but current students and alumni have opinions. I for one did not attend a bible school to obtain a degree in accounting. It seems to me that both schools will lose the identity and purpose they were started with if the merger succeeds. It was interesting to see the merger from the CBC perspective, but a website that shows the effect on both schools, in a balanced light, would have a much stronger impact.
Although, as I understand the situation, the issue has been tabled for this General Council, I would encourage everyone to stay active and up-to-date with what is going on over on Boonville. This is not a new idea. I believe the exact same issue was voted down in the ‘80’s. Unless people stand up for what they believe, as this website is doing, the future of both schools may be quite bleak. I hope to see regular updates to this website in a continuing effort to stop this merger from ever happening.
Thanks again for the time and the sacrifice
Matt Watson
