Deceptive Practices by Senior A/G Leadership
Regarding the Push for the Merger
July 11, 2005
- Notice the two bold-faced names on the March 21, 2005 memo from the General Superintendent’s office: J. Don George and Eldin Villafane
- The names submitted by CBC to the EP for approval had two other names instead of the two listed above
-- Why wasn’t CBC consulted when the names were changed (versus informed by directive after the fact)?
-- Why were the gentlemen that CBC submitted removed when they had served faithfully and in good standing with CBC?
--- Did the dismissal have anything to do with the two gentlemen speaking out against the merger when Dr. Robert Cooley came to explain to the CBC Board of Directors why the merger was such a good idea?
-- Why did at least one EP say that they were not informed that the list upon which they were voting was not the list submitted by CBC?
- Why were both George and Villafane substituted on the list?
-- Was it because they were both known, pro-merger gentlemen?
-- As a former employee of Dr. Cooley, did Villafane have some known allegiances with Dr. Cooley’s positions on education?
- If so, why was Eldin Villafane removed from the list later?
-- Was it because he did not attend an Assembly of God church and therefore was ineligible to serve on the CBC Board of Directors?
-- If so, why was he nominated by those who submitted the list to the EPs in the first place?
-- Was it to facilitate the handing over of CBC to a university model?

- BOTTOM LINE: why is deception necessary to achieve godly goals?
- RECOMMENDATION: consider voting for new headquarters A/G leadership that serve under the protective umbrella of term limits
